Kerala Migration Survey 2023 takes place through Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation under the direction of Dr. S. Irudaya Rajan, Visiting Fellow, GIFT and Chair, IIMAD which is funded by the Government of Kerala.

Our Founder President Dr. K.C. Zachariah departed us on 17th January 2023. 

Chair is part of both Jharkhand Migration Survey 2023 (10000 households) and Odisha Migration Survey 2023 (15000 households)

Balasubramanyam Pattath (Balu) is a PhD candidate in Development Economics at the Graduate Institute, Geneva. Prior to joining the Graduate Institute, Balu worked as a research associate in the Economics and Public Policy Department at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He holds a Master’s in development studies also from the Graduate Institute and a Bachelor’s in economics from the University of Delhi. Balu also co-designed an ongoing return emigrant survey in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and worked for the Centre for Development Studies as a survey coordinator for the Kerala Migration Survey 2018.
