Mohammed Taukeer completed his PhD from G B Pant Social Science Institute, University of Allahabad. He did his Master of Philosophy in Development Studies from G B Pant Social Science Institute, University of Allahabad and Master Degree in Geography from University of Allahabad. His research areas of interest are labour migration from South Asia to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the context of impact of remittances on both origin and destinations at the micro and macro level of economy. He is also interested to work on processes and consequences of illegal migration from South Asia.
