Kerala Migration Survey 2023 takes place through Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation under the direction of Dr. S. Irudaya Rajan, Visiting Fellow, GIFT and Chair, IIMAD which is funded by the Government of Kerala.

Our Founder President Dr. K.C. Zachariah departed us on 17th January 2023. 

Chair is part of both Jharkhand Migration Survey 2023 (10000 households) and Odisha Migration Survey 2023 (15000 households)

Priya Deshingkar is Professor of Migration and Development at the School of Global Studies, University of Sussex (UK) and an internationally recognised expert on internal migration and precarious work and has worked extensively in South and Southeast Asia as well as Africa. Her book, Circular migration and multi locational livelihoods strategies in rural India, Oxford University Press is a standard reference book on the topic. Her research interests span forced labour, precarity and human agency in labour markets. She has advised the Indian Ministry of Urban Affairs on policies related to circular migration and her work has influenced the draft Indian National Migration Policy. She is currently a Visiting Professor at the International Institute of Migration and Development and an adviser for India Migration Now and the Centre for Migration and Inclusive Development.
