S. Amuthan

Senior Research Fellow


S. Amuthan is an Senior Research Fellow at IIMAD. He has worked as Assistant Professor of Economics at DMI St.Eugene University, Lusaka, Zambia and has formerly worked as a research associate at Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum. He has completed PhD from Madras Christian College, Chennai. He has undertaken a research project funded by Malcolm Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust, Chennai and had been awarded the prestigious ICSSR fellowship. He has been studying migration since 2011 and was engaged in the Tamil Nadu Migration Survey-2015. His areas of research specialisation are urbanization, labour migration and development. His latest papers are published in India Migration Report 2018 (Routledge, New Delhi) and Handbook on Internal Migration in India (SAGE publication, New Delhi).
